Pelee Island Transportation Company operates the Pelee Islander ferries between Pelee Island and the Mainland.
We seek to fill one Service Aid position working a seven (7) day on/off rotation. The company provides meals and accommodation on the vessel during your work rotation.

Responsibilities
-
The general hygiene of the interior passenger spaces, crew’s mess and galley areas, including restrooms and seating areas.

The daily operation of the cafeteria, galley, and gift shop.

Keeping the cafeteria area clean and organized.
-
Serving food and beverage to passengers.
-
Assisting the Chief Cook in the galley as designated or directed.

Ensuring that food safety and sanitation standards are met.
-
Providing excellent customer service to passengers.

Providing information to passengers about the ferry schedule, amenities, and safety procedures
-
Following all safety procedures and regulations, including those related to food handling and storage and emergency procedures. Ensuring passenger safety and welfare.

Carrying out emergency duties and participating in drills
-
Working in a safe manner as to not endanger themselves, crew, and passengers.

Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Experience and Abilities

MEDs certificates are an asset.
-
Smart Serve is an asset.
-
Valid Transport Canada Marine Medical Certificate.

Valid Canadian passport: Canadian citizenship or landed immigrant status

Ability to perform high physical demands, including:
-
Lifting to 25lbs.
-
Ability to stand for 2 hours at a time.
-
Ability to read, write, understand, and speak English.
-
