Svitzer Canada Ltd has a full-time position for a Master. The Master is responsible for the safe operation of the tug and for the safety of all crew members. You must be capable of making quick decisions in critical situations. Good communication skills are required when dealing with other departments to ensure a safe and efficient operation.
Near Coastal 500 tonne certificate
ASD and tug experience a must
Marine Emergency Duties (MED’s) STCW Basic Safety and Survival Craft Certifications
Transport Canada Marine Medical
Experienced with Safety Management Systems (ISO & ISM)
Experience with Microsoft Suite an asset
Experience with HMS and Sertica an asset
Experienced leader and motivator of direct reports
Strong sense of responsibility and pride in overall condition of machinery
Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Self-starter, analytical and problem-solving capabilities
