At Ocean Services (Norbulk), we are committed to the Health & Safety of our seafarers.

We are currently recruiting Full Time Cook for our Canadian Flagged Vessel.

The Cook plays an important role on the ship to provide nourishment for our crew while on board.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible to the Master for the hygienic, efficient and economic operation of the Catering Department.

Duties include but are not limited to:

 ·Responsible for preparation, planning and cooking of meals and related tasks for all persons onboard the vessel.

·Planning menus to provide nutritional, complete and appetising meals, minimising waste and utilising leftovers where appropriate.

·Supervision and inspection of food preparation and service.

·Ensuring strict storage rotation of refrigerated foods according to vessel movements and food quality. 

·The daily inspection of all refrigerated spaces  and ensuring that the temperature of all refrigerated spaces is recorded twice daily.

·Inspection of all Departmental stores on receipt.

·The instruction and supervision of the Catering Department personnel in the proper execution of their assigned duties.

·The preparation of defect lists for submission to the Chief Engineer.

·Maintain monthly consumption reports and inventory stock levels.

·Calculate monthly victualling rates.

·Maintain record of extra meals served to visitors.

·The Health and Safety regulations governing catering are absolute and the Cook must exercise rigid control to ensure compliance with these regulations. 

Qualifications Include:

Cert of Comp, Marine First Aid, Basic Safety & Fire Fighting, Marine Medical, Passport, Securities Duties.
