Since it's formation in 1982 Norbulk Shipping has continued to expand its ship management operations. Ship owner clients located across the globe now include, public listed companies, private family controlled shipping interests and government shipping enterprises.

Our Canadian Crewing Company:  Ocean Service Ltd. is currently recruiting an interium ETO to join one of our Canadian flagged vessels

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

-Monthly inspections of the vessel’s electrical equipment with special attention being paid to tankship electrical equipment in respect to hazardous areas outside machinery spaces and accommodation areas.

-Providing a monthly report on the serviceability of electrical equipment for the Chief Engineer with special attention to gas tightness and intrinsic integrity of tankship equipment.

-Isolating electrically operated machinery or circuitry to enable maintenance or other work to be carried out safely (See NS HSM – Health and Safety Manual).

-Weekly checks of ship’s emergency batteries and GMDSS equipment.

-Assist as necessary during entering/leaving port.

-Assist in the preparation of requisitions for electrical equipment stores and spare parts and submit them to the Chief Engineer for approval.

- Maintain an inventory of the materials on hand and on order to make both the normal routing supplies and specific demands for stores.

- Carry out receipt checks and sign for the materials and goods when delivered, ensuring they are properly labelled, preserved, stowed and secured to avoid loss from damage or deterioration.

- Maintain control over the issuance and usage of tools and materials and other goods in his charge to prevent waste.

- Upon joining the vessel, the Electrical Officer must report to the Master and then the Chief Engineer. He must consult with the Officer he is relieving regarding the machinery and equipment for which he will be responsible. He will then inspect such machinery and equipment, reporting any deficiencies to the Chief Engineer.

- Complete NS PER 006 (Handover Report) & NS SAF 001 (Shipboard Familiarisation Record).

-The Electrical Officer is additionally responsible for the serviceability and cleanliness of the vessel’s electrical systems and equipment including but not limited to the following items:

- Main, auxiliary and emergency switchboard;

- Alternators (including the routine testing of the emergency unit);

- Starters and motors;

- Cargo handling equipment (where appropriate);

- Electrical and electronic control equipment for engine, cargo and deck machinery;

- Communications equipment;

- Accommodation, lighting and galley services;

- Refrigerated container power boxes/sockets

Must be certifiied to work as an ETO in Canada and the US and have all valid Transport Canada certifications.
