We seek to fill one Ordinary Seaman / Deck Hand (with MED’s & Bridgewatch Certificate) position and one Ordinary Seaman / Deck hand (with MEDs) working a 7-day on/off rotation. The company provides meals and accommodation on the vessel during your work rotation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with loading and unloading the ship.
  • Assist with passenger safety and welfare.
  • Assist with general mooring duties and routine deck maintenance.
  • Complete Fire and Safety Checks

Qualifications, Experience and Abilities

  • Marine Emergency Duties certification.
  • Bridgewatch certificate
  • Valid Transport Canada Marine Medical Certificate
  • Valid Canadian passport or landed immigrant status (PR Card).
  • Ability to perform high physical demands including:
  • Regular need to climb a flight of stairs.
  • Lifting and packing boxes up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand consistently for 2 hours at a time.
  • Ability to climb up to 12 ft ladders.
  • Ability to see 100’ with good depth perception for catching lines.
  • Pull heavy cables up to 50 feet.
  • Stand consistently for 2 hours.
  • Preferred applicants possess initiative, a team-oriented work style, and a track record for safety at work.

Safety Sensitive Environment

  • Personal Protective Equipment (boots, pants, eye, and ear protective wear)
