Reporting to the President and CEO of Transport Desgagnés inc. (TDI), the Director – Crew Management is responsible for ensuring that TDI has in the short and long term the motivated, qualified and competent captains, chief engineers, officers and sailors who are required for the crews. vessels in its fleet, including the vessel operated by Relais Nordik inc., in accordance with regulatory requirements, customer requirements and operational needs.

 

To accomplish this mission, he directs and supervises a team of coordinators. He must also develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of the employment market in the Canadian maritime sector and of all seagoing personnel.

 

Required skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial relations / human resources management / administration, with a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience
  • Experience in the field of commercial maritime transport (important asset)
  • Experience in work team management
  • Experience in negotiating employment contracts and collective agreements
  • Superior interpersonal skills
  • Excellent ability to influence directly and indirectly – strong leadership
