Duties and responsibilities- Enable and support the development of a sourcing strategy based on data and user requirements;
- Implement strategic sourcing approach for the various spend categories;
- Ensure the use of proper sourcing tools and strategies based on internal stakeholder needs and the market environment;
- Lead cross-functional teams through sometimes complex sourcing, evaluation, supplier selection, contract negotiation and on-boarding processes; prepare appropriate documents for same;
- Drive continuous improvement with suppliers, our department and our stakeholders;
- Develop a supply partner network that creates a balance between local & global partners and optimizes total acquisition cost, supply agility & innovation;
- Contract Management including the coordination of flow-down of contractual requirements and terms and conditions to business stakeholders;
- Ensure the successful implementation of the different strategies and ensure we are able to execute through the multi-disciplinary team;
- Create and monitor the KPIs and drive a continuous improvement culture within spend categories;
- Develop and drive monthly/quarterly supplier scorecards, measuring all aspects of supplier’s performance;
- Lead category multi-functional team to evaluate supplier and supply chain risks and develop risk mitigation plans.
- 5-10 years of professional experience in procurement roles of increasing responsibility, notably in the following industries: Vessel Management, Shipbuilding, Construction, Heavy Manufacturing, Aerospace or National Defence;
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Naval Architecture, Computer science, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or equivalent;
- Experience in maritime industry working with globally vessel operations;
- Supply Chain accreditations considered an asset: APICS, CPM, SCMP, MCIPS or ISM;
- CAPM or PMP certification considered an asset;
- Procurement program or project management;
- Capable of navigating through ambiguity;
- Basic Accounting capabilities to understand manufacturing cost-drivers;
- Good understanding of procurement practices and principles with demonstrated negotiation and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to successfully negotiate high-value and strategic partnership agreements with Tier 1 and possibly Tier 2 OEMs for Marine/Naval, Defence and/or Aerospace sectors preferred;
- Proven ability to develop and implement strategies that demonstrate an understanding of business needs and applied solutions;
- Demonstrated understanding of complete flow-down of customer contractual requirements to contract terms and conditions;
- Supplier Qualification, tender process, RFI, RFP, RFQ, tender evaluations / supplier selection;
- Strong Leadership skills;
- Team player with problem solving abilities and a drive for results;
- Demonstrates ability to influence stakeholders internal and external;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English and French) with experience presenting to senior leadership;
- Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships, work collaboratively and grow own networks;
- Knowledge and understanding of systems and data mining skills (PowerBI, Oracle, SAP, Business Objects, SQL, VBasic, SAS, Excel, Access, etc…).
