Duties and responsibilities- Coordinate a review and alignment of Safety Management Systems (SMS) across the Canadian and Australian regions with all relevant regional stakeholders and ensure that outcomes of the SMS annual reviews in the CSL operating regions are reviewed and where applicable all regional SMSs are kept aligned and updated;
- Take the lead on overseeing the migration of the current Canadian/Australian VMS documentation to a modernised platform;
- Take the lead in editing complex and lengthy SMS procedures with the aim of having a streamlined easy-to-use/reference SMS on a modern agile platform;
- Ensures Internal/External regulatory audit programs are in place across CSL’s operating regions ship and shore;
- Participate in the Internal regional ISM audit process as required ship and shore;
- In conjunction with Director, Global HSEQ reviews regional audit reports and implements/maintains a program to track preventative actions group-wide as required;
- In conjunction with Director, Global HSEQ reviews regional Incident Investigation Reports/Safety Alerts and implements/maintains a program to track preventative actions group-wide as required;
- Responsible for coordinating/conducted training on the SMS across the regions as required and embedding the process in CSL’s onboarding program;
- Develop a schedule for the annual ship/shore emergency drills and assist in the development of scenarios for use to test the regional ERT process;
- Coordinate regional management reviews of the SMS with the relevant regional stakeholders and develop a process for updating systems to ensure continued alignment;
- Monitor future new/changes to relevant maritime regulations and ensure regional operations are in compliance with applicable regulations;
- Other related projects as needed.
- 5 years experience working in a marine-related industry;
- Bachelor degree in a related field;
- ISO and/or ISM auditor accreditation is desirable;
- Experience in quality management preferred;
- Experience in a global role, an asset;
- Thorough knowledge of CSL quality systems and the requirements of the ISM Code and Domestic regulations relevant to CSL’s global vessel operations;
- Good communication (oral and written) skills;
