A BRIEF OVERVIEW OF WHAT TO EXPECT
You have any experience as a Tug Captain? You have all the required licenses and certificates? This job opportunity is for you!
As a Captain, you will be responsible for towing, crew management and ship maintenance management.
Under the supervision of the Director of Operations, the incumbent is assigned to harbour towage operations for Ocean Ontario Towing, which operates mainly in the ports of Hamilton, Toronto, Oshawa and Goderich.
RESPONSIBILITIES YOU WILL BE ENTRUSTED WITH
- Operate vessels in accordance with the company’s practices and those recognized in the industry
- Manage a crew and promote the company’s health and safety program
- See to the implementation of the company’s maintenance program
- Ensure sound management of the equipment under his responsibility
PROFILE SOUGHT
- Hold a valid Canadian Master 500 gross tonnage, near coastal
- Hold a valid Marine Medical certificate issued by Transports Canada
- Certificates of Proficiency (CoP): MED Proficiency in survival craft and rescue boats other than fast rescue boats; STCW Basic Safety; Advanced Fire Fighting
- Marine elementary first aid certificate
- Have a sense of customer service
- Have 2 to 5 years of experience as Captain
- Organizational skills
- Demonstrate leadership
- Functional English
- Available to work rotating 24/7 shift and to travel out of town and sometimes out of the province of Ontario
