Captain – Tanker Fleet
Coastal Shipping Limited | Full-Time or Relief / Fill-In Opportunities
Coastal Shipping Limited, a division of Woodward Group, is currently seeking experienced Captains to join our Canadian tanker fleet.
We are interested in candidates for both full-time positions and relief/fill-in opportunities. Our vessels operate in a diverse range of environments, including the Canadian Arctic, coastal waters, Great Lakes, and overseas operations.
Position Details
- Position: Captain
- Vessel Type: Tanker
- Employment: Full-Time and Relief / Fill-In
- Rotation: 38 days on / 38 days off for regular rotational positions
- Operations: Arctic, Coastal, Great Lakes & Overseas
- Travel: Company-paid door-to-door crew travel

Qualifications & Requirements
Candidates should hold the appropriate Transport Canada Certificate of Competency for the position and vessel, together with all required valid marine certifications.
Preference will be given to candidates with:
- Previous command experience
- Tanker experience
- Oil and Chemical Tanker certification/endorsement
- Strong ship-handling and navigational experience
- Experience operating in Arctic, coastal and/or Great Lakes waters
- Strong leadership and crew-management skills
- Excellent safety awareness and commitment to regulatory compliance
- Strong communication and decision-making skills
Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada and meet all applicable Transport Canada medical and certification requirements.
