1. Marine Emergency Duties Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW) – Basic Safety
2. Marine Emergency Duties STCW – Survival Craft
3. Radio Operator's License - Maritime with DSC Endorsement (ROC-M), or
Radio Operator's License - Maritime Commercial (ROC-MC)
4. Marine First Aid (can be Marine Basic First Aid, Marine Advanced First Aid, or Occupational First Aid Level 3)

Asset Qualifications:
ASSET OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION
1. Bridge Watch certificate
2. Able Seafarer Certificate (Able Seaman, Watchkeeping Mate or higher)
3. Marine Advanced First Aid or Occupational First Aid (OFA) level 3
4. Possession and Acquisition License
5. Small Vessel Operator Proficiency (SVOP) certificate or higher
6. Small Vessel Machinery Operator (SVMO) certificate or higher
ASSET EXPERIENCE
1. Working in a Marine environment
2. Working at sea
3. Using power tools in an industrial setting*
*Industrial setting is defined to include, but not be limited to, the following: factories, shipyards and farms
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
• Reliability Status security clearance
• Valid Medical (Transport Canada Marine Medical or Health Canada Periodic 3)
• Valid Canadian Passport
• Must be willing and able to wear a Respiratory Protection device and meet the standard of the CCG Respiratory Protection Program – RPP
• Must be willing to wear and maintain a uniform per Canadian Coast Guard standards, inclusive of CSA approved safety footwear and maintain job related personal safety equipment
• Must be willing and able to be deployed
• Must be willing and able to perform Overtime work as required, often on short notice
• Must be willing and able to work shiftwork
• Must be willing and able to go to sea for prolonged periods of time (including Arctic Waters) in adverse weather conditions, and on various classes of vessels (Up to 42 days)
• Must be willing and able to travel by air, land, or by sea
