We are currently hiring and looking for Third Officer to join our container vessel that will be operating along the East Atlantic coast between Halifax, NS, Argentia, NL, Saint Pierre and Miquelon. We invite motivated, safety oriented marine professionals to join our crew. We offer competitive wage and benefits package with 4 weeks off and on.
Safety Sensitive Position
This position is designated as a safety sensitive position and is subject to the provisions of Marine Atlantic’s Drug and Alcohol Policy. We have a zero-tolerance policy for alcohol, cannabis, and illicit drugs.
Requirements:
- Valid Transport Canada Marine Medical
- Valid Transport Canada Certificate of Competency
- Valid STCW that meets the STCW Manila 2010 (CoC 2010)
- Valid STCW Basic Safety (MED / Basic Safety Training)
- Valid Vessel Personnel with Security Responsibilities (VPWSR) Certificate
- Valid Passport
- Authorization to work in Canada (Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or valid Work Permit holder)
- Comply with company safety, health, sanitation procedures, ISM and company SMS requirements
- Previous experience in similar capacity
- Experience with ship's cranes and container fleet operations is an asset
